An Invitation from Callie and John

Change of Wedding Venue

Callie & John’s Wedding

Update

Some Changes to Plan

We are looking forward to seeing you soon in the Sierra de Gata.  It looks as if we will have about 50 visitors for the day or a bit longer.  We, ourselves, hope to arrive on Monday.  If any of you has concerns or questions please don’t hesitate to ask for what you need.  Many of you have made a tremendous effort to prepare for this journey to Extremadura and we hope you will enjoy being in the Sierra de Gata for our wedding.

Two changes from the Invitation outline of the day.

A Change of venue

You probably have accommodation booked and transport arranged.  You will certainly have done this before we made some alterations to the programme.  We are sorry that this might mean some changes to what you have been expecting.  The major difference is for the wedding venue itself. This will now take place at the Hernan Perez Chiringuito which is a seven minute drive from the original Cadalso setting.   Santibañez is half way between the two and up on a Hill.

J John´s house

Unfortunately, the village has had to abandon it´s lunchtime paella. Santibañez was affected by two serious forest fires a few weeks ago around it´s major feast day and planning for the 10th September was interrupted. There is a programme of musical events, I believe. It is still worth visiting the village and my house will be open. You can enter it from the door in the bullring at the top of the village. It´s not lived in just now. Feel free to look around and go where you want. It is small but has 6 doors to the outside. It has WiFi and a toilet. Help yourself to drinks or anything else. I hope to be around at some point. Siesta under the vine if you like.

It looks like being a hot day and while I would love to offer you all lunch in the bullring it would probably be better to chose another swimming área to cool off in the afternoon. They all have bars and offer light lunches.

We will gather at the Hernan Perez chringuito from 7pm. Callie or I will be at hand if you need any help and you will also meet John´s local friends who have moved from UK and know the area well.  We have a few volunteer drivers to help out during the day and we´ll do our best to ferry people back to their at night if they want that.

May you all have a safe journey
